There are many red flags when looking at a phishing email, these are five I picked that can help you identify one. 1 - The URL in the body of the email doesn't match the sender's domain. This is one of the key tell-tale signs you may have received a phishing email. 2 - The email contains an attachment you were not expecting. How frequently should I have my users change their password? I get this question a lot lately. Industry standard is going toward more of a passphrase, or a longer password with less frequent changes instead of the standard 30/45/60/90 day change intervals. I am seeing clients go with 14, 15 character passwords instead of the standard 8 characters and then increasing the change interval to once or twice a year instead. My latest acquisition. Honestly, I've never had a tower server in my #homelab before. At least, not a Dell branded one. I am working to reduce the amount of systems I have in my lab even further than I already have. Last spring I got rid of my entire rack. The power costs were double what I was paying in my previous home. The goal is to consolidate down to 1 server. I'm even rebuilding my video edit system so that I can somewhat reduce it's power usage. With all of that being said, I don't think I ever won't have some kind of a server in my home.
